Seneca Nunn
"Cowgirls Rule" is the sign that proudly adorns my home office. For the past 24 years, I have operated a highly successful pet sitting business, Nunn Better! Pet Care, from this very space. With a robust and growing clientele of more than 1000 active clients, supported by more than 10 dedicated and well-trained home and pet caregivers, Nunn Better! Pet Care is the preferred service for those away for the day, week, or longer.
My relentless energy and high expectations drive both myself and my team. I am an EAMT (Emergency Animal Medical Technician) first aid certified professional, and accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to my clients, staff, and friends. I am always ready to offer advice on pet behavioral issues, particularly for aging pets, as I am adept at assisting with diabetic cats requiring daily insulin injections or subcutaneous fluids and am committed to enhancing the quality of life for the animals that are integral to your family. My personal pet family includes: eight horses, three dogs, four cats, and various tortoises including Sherman, a 90-pound Sulcatta.
As a native of Yuma, I have been an accomplished equine rider since the age of five, achieving awards in cutting horse competitions and securing ten championships in showing Quarter Horses, both English and Western. I was selected by Rotary International as a Foreign Exchange Student and studied in Brussels, Belgium, for a year and became fluent in French. My adventures continued with a Semester at Sea, a University of Pittsburgh program that took me 'Around the World in 90 Days,' followed by treks across Tibet with my mother and navigation of the Panama Canal with both my mother and grandmother.
At the University of Arizona (U of A), I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences. Subsequently, I founded my own pet sitting business. In 2007, I was honored with the Early Achiever Award by the U of A College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
I have a heart of service, and my passions include having operated as Vice Chair of Gabriel's Angels of Southern Arizona, where I chaired the 2016 Unleash the Love Event, raising over $80,000. I have served as a Member of the Catalina Rotary Club, past Advisory Board member of Pet Partners and currently a Pet Therapy Team with Pet Partners of Southern Arizona and Sunshine Therapy Animals with my two Aussies, Jett and Rodeo and my mini horse, Stetson.
Whether mucking out stalls, dog walking, giving horse riding lessons, two-stepping, engaging in continuing education with my staff, or actively serving my community, I demonstrate that Cowgirls DO rule! And when it comes to Nunn Better! Pet Care and my team of pet sitters, there is truly, Nunn Better!
